“DJ Matt Kitshon is one of the greatest DJs in the history of house music in Shanghai.”.
“Matt Kitshon is one of the “Jedi Council “ when it comes to electronic music in QLD.”.
“No genre escapes his attention. No resonance eludes his aural perception. From stilted spatial computer effects to the blaring golden tones of the alto saxophone, Matt Kitshon is truly a sound designer and an adept in his arts.”.
Since his first days playing at Millennium at Fortitude Valley’s now defunct venue The Tube, Matt Kitshon’s beats have since penetrated every Brisbane sound system, extending beyond Queensland’s borders to every club in Australia to further infiltrate the dancefloors of China. Matt can take the acclaim towards developing the breaks and tech sound that once dominated Australian dance culture.
It is the concept of a seamless set of tracks and stamping his own signature style on them that keeps Matt Kitshon behind the decks, while propelling his fans to the floor and inspiring waves of DJs to emulate him. From launching Secret Sessions to performing before thousands at Australia’s major festivals or playing to an intimate crowd at smaller club gigs, Matt Kitshon has worn every hat as a dancefloor terrorist, performer, events organiser, music director and audio technician, even so far as to hold a Certificate in Electronic Music Production from Queensland’s famed SAE College. Especially, it is his forceful sets cauterised by old skool tech, early electro, techno, progressive and house flavours with a two decade spanning career that marks him as a highly versatile DJ, yet specialised enough to carry his own on the dancefloor. No matter the crowd or venue, whether as a feature act, a support or warm down DJ, Matt Kitshon delivers the goods.
His extraordinary manner of a no‐holds‐barred attitude tempered by his determined nature whilst resplendent with tattoos and body piercings, extends into his unrivalled sets, with battering beats and solid melodies that not only intoxicate the senses and exhort bodies to dance, but opens the dancefloor to his concepts of tight mixing, innovative tunes, blazing beats and emotive melodies. With an ethos that music is more a religion than a way of life, this dark god modifies an ordinary night out to a divine musical experience. As Matt Kitshon upholds the establishment that birthed today’s scene overpopulated with young DJ and producer hopefuls, his fearless presence reminds us that there is nothing like a damn good DJ.
Matt has proudly supported such global acts and names as Groove Armada [UK], Leftfield [UK], The Crystal Method [USA], Fatboy Slim [UK], CJ Bolland [GER], and Hybrid [UK], Carl Cox, Sasha, John Digweed, Jeff Mills, Luke Slater, Derrick May, Roger Sanchez, Derrick Carter, Dave Seamen, Judge Jules, Dj Falcon, Graham Park, Steve Lawler, Sister Bliss and DJ Heaven to name a few.
Matt has performed at the infamous ‘Sounds on Sunday’ among many other notable clubs in Sydney, and other prestigious clubs in Melbourne and Perth, while continuing to be a feature on the Australian leg of the Ministry Of Sound, Gatecrasher, Dope on Plastic, and Renaissance world tour dates and has also appeared on the line up of major Australian festivals such as The Big Day Out, Adventj*h and Livid.
Matt has also toured to New Zealand for events such as Alpine Unity, as well as international gigs in USA, throughout NEW ZEALAND, across CHINA, as well as the rest of ASIA.

“VOTED BEST LOCAL ARTIST FOR 2008″
- Time Off magazine: Brisbane
“Have to mention Scott Walker from Brisbane, the guy blew me away playing a real tech-funk set. Seamless – I wish he could have done the whole tour.”
- Meat Katie [on Scott’s set supporting him. Meat Katie requested DJ Scott Walker to be his warmup DJ for two Brisbane tours].
Australia has produced its fair share of quality DJs over the years, but few have the all-round respect of the entire dance music community that DJ Scott Walker has on his side. Walker’s reputation has been built over fourteen years behind the decks, and also in part due to his knowledge and support of dance music and its history. He is one of a rare breed of DJ’s that has been able to master and play out a number of genres throughout his career.
This rich musical history is what makes Scott one of Brisbane’s most versatile and respected DJs.
From the start Scott’s career has continued on a rapid upward trajectory, with his unique sound capturing the imagination of dancefloors all over Australia from Melbourne to Sydney, Canberra to Cairns, and even into Asia with tours taking in Singapore, Thailand (Bangkok & Phuket), Malaysia (KL) and Indonesia (Jakarta & Bandung).
All of which would count for nothing if he didn’t have the skills behind the decks to back up his CV, and there aren’t many DJs in Brisbane with Walker’s party-rocking abilities. His technical skills perfectly complement his intuitive track selection whilst his floor filling abilities are peerless. Whether the consummate professional when being handpicked to perform that critical warmup slot for the big international guest in town, or when unleashing dancefloor hell during a closing main room slamfest, Scott Walker is Brisbane clubland’s reliable go-to man.
Tour DeeJay and Famous Queensland Mixologist
DJ Scott Walker’s early days saw him as an avid raver partying every week in Brisbane and Gold Coast’s infamously hedonistic 90’s dance scene. This led onto purchasing his first set of decks in 1998 which in turn saw him quickly earn a reputation for playing quality house, rave and trance. The turn-of-the-century came and Walker’s tastes diverged as he dived deeper into progressive house and tribal, whilst at the same time laying down nu-school breaks as an original member of the Vinyl Slingers act. All the while indulging a long love affair with the foundations of house and techno – which is where his focus has reverted to today.
A DJ for all electronic music lovers – Scott’s sound is of the DEEP / DISCO / HOUSE & TECHNO style with a lifetime of music in his back catalogue available at the DROP of a stylus.

Originally from Melbourne, though now residing in Brisbane, Zach Salar has brought with him a different take on club control developed amongst the counter culture collectives of the southern state, while embracing the fresh faced eagerness and do it yourself attitude of our fair city.
Once settled, Zach set about displaying prowess in both mainstream and underground nightspots, showing a duality and adaptability that is both unique and accessible. Backed by a fine record collection, and able control of the 1s and 2s, he has become a popular local fixture supplying the patrons of various clubs with inspired late night soundtracks and unmitigated fun from behind the mixer.
It is his wildly popular Nightvision podcast though where he has done the most damage. Alongside local stalwart Brett J, the two have set about educating Brisbane clubbers with their fresh take on music presentation, and in the process have drawn significant attention to the quality of Brisbane’s local DJs.
Zach Salar, like a man possessed, drives the dance floor into the outer realms crossing deep, tech and minimal house in a manner that would spook astronauts. And as we head into the evening darkness at the end of the week, we are pleased to have such a skilled and fearless dancefloor spaceman at the controls.
Zach Salar – Leave The Capsule If You Dare
“Passion, extensive music knowledge, diversity and
longevity are qualities most DJs these days still aspire to.
Anthonne “Boogie” Shepherd has it in spades”.
- Triple J Groovetrain
His music selection is topped only by his mixing ability (a quality sometimes missing in this new era of ‘technology’), a keen ear for all things ‘party’ & the knowledge of how to shake a dance floor to it’s core. No matter the style of music BoogieShoes brings the funk on all levels.
These qualities have seen him appear on Triple J’s “Groove Train” for a live 3 hour set, host is own radio show for 5 years on 101.3fm, and support every major tour that came to town. As such, throughout his career he has had the pleasure of working with a veritable ‘who’s who’ of the finest dj’s and live acts, both national and international. Whether it be playing big room house with Ministry Of Sound, soulful sexy grooves with HouseSexy & Hed Kandi, getting your funk on with RnB Superclub, or rocking the stage with the Jungle Brothers or Blue King Brown, BoogieShoes never fails to do the business.
An unquenchable thirst for new sounds, hugely eclectic taste, and a music collection to match gives BoogieShoes the ability to play to any crowd in any venue. His sets can be played straight up, sticking to the required genre, or be a complete mash-up of across the board sounds, usually topped off these days with a ‘live’ electronic percussion element added. So whether it be catering to the sophisticated cool house heads, lounging with the soul set, rockin’ a progressive or electro crowd, banging out some big room & festival beats, or expanding the horizons of world music lovers, and more, Anthonne has the ability to provide an impressive soundtrack for any vibe.
Due to the diverse nature of his music tastes and abilities, and the venues he has worked in, his gigs cover the full spectrum of music, from all forms of house, electro, progressive, breaks, drum’n'bass, dubstep, lounge, soul, rare groove, nu-disco, latin/afro, funk & hip hop, through to blues, jazz, alternative, heavy rock and even metal.

A lifetime appreciation and deep involvement with all aspects of music, through blues guitar to audio production, to the cutting edge of the modern day house sound, DJ Cool Hand Luke is one of Brisbane’s most experienced deejays with a perfect sound sensibility and a talent for social atmospherics.
Nowhere is his versatility and refined selection more apparent than in the club: low slung disco vibes in the lounge, big funky soulful tech house for the big room or bumpy jacking house for the side room.
Midweek, Brisbane DJ Cool Hand Luke can be found delivering a soulful and invigorating audio experience with a considerate and personal deep touch.
From heaving main rooms, to kicking side rooms, bars, boats and in between, and his 11-year Sunday session residency beside Brisbane’s beautiful New Farm Park, have shown Cool Hand Luke to be one of the country’s most respected DJ’s. Academic attention to detail and a definitively individual rhythm show Luke as a skilled and masterful addition to any club, event or corporate function.
DJ Coolhand Luke annually orchestrates the musical entertainment and performance for the Lord Mayors’ Bridge To Brisbane Fun Run and many other big events, functions, private parties and wedding DJ Events.
See DJ Coolhand Luke Every Sunday Live..
What is Luke’s Musical Repertoire?
Over a decade of intense club experience, through highly regarded long term residencies have shown Cool Hand Luke to be a knowledgeable and individual mood setter and record collector. Nowhere is his versatility and refined selection more apparent than his involvement with the heavy duty Family outfit. For many years the mainstay of the Lounge’s lofty, low tempo disco output with fellow funk and erotic boogie compadre Mr Sparkle. Not enough to hold fort at the bump and grind end of the house spectrum, Luke occasionally finds the Mainroom a suitable outlet for a cheeky take on the big room sound, and towards the end of The Family’s upstairs area, further explorations of the jacking and funky tech house sound led Coolhand Luke on more frequent and twisted excursions in the club’s infamous Uncle room.
Luke’s usual club dj sound would be best described as a house beat to stretch your legs to, or to stretch out on the lounge, a tribal jacking and funky tech house beat for the clubs, big soulful disco house treats and other good vibes for a party, retro 70s-80′s boogie… Even your own special selection of Polish lumberjack songs from the 1930′s if you want it. Whatever your taste, DJ Luke is the man for your event (Just ask corporate events at Brisbane City Council!)
SUPPORTS: International DJ’s & Acts

The youngest child of six in a musical family, DJ Chantal was heavily influenced by the myriad of different musical tastes surrounding her, though initially found an outlet for her interest in the sonic arts through dance. Her initial unusual music explorations were accompanied by physical movement and immediate expression, all the while developing a strict adherence to rhythm and form.
Chantal’s passion for dance would continue through her adolescence, interrupted only briefly by more studious inspection of the music surrounding her, at this stage only a sideline dalliance in the downtime between rigorous rehearsals and performances.
It was not long before Chantal was crossing the country, and then the globe in pursuit of a professional dancing career, punctuated only by a telling introduction to the 1200 turntable, before setting off again, this time to one of the most regarded dance halls on the planet, Moulin Rouge. Although renowned for its respect of traditional dance forms and more austere musical performance, the experience unintentionally placed her amongst the bountiful neighbourhood fairs and boutique record stores of Paris, slowly turning the young dancer onto more edgy modern sounds. It wasn’t long before a full blown vinyl habit had engulfed her, and spare moments were spent seeking new tunes, at times skipping the retail operations altogether and heading straight for the source, in the offices of local record labels.
Talents of DJ Chantal
During this time, Chantal found herself stretching to appreciate both passions for music and dance, enduring strenuous training during the day, whilst sneaking out in the evenings to dip her toe in the sordid spin cycle of the city’s nightspots, laying out inspired DJ sets in the surrounding bars of the nocturnal quarter, before reluctantly acquiescing to Moulin Rouge’s demanding performance schedule. Upon her return to Australia. Chantal wasted little time in establishing herself in Brisbane’s local house scene. Bringing funky disco vibes to the bars and the afterparties, and deep bumpy jackin house to the clubs, Chantal quickly set about becoming a regarded local fixture, showing herself to be an accomplished club controller in the process, taking care of the floor with a dancer’s perspective.
Now, in an age of blogs, downloads and fashions, and almost a decade after first laying fingers to delicate grooves, Chantal has proven there is no better source of musical inspiration than the simple primal interaction of dancer and DJ.
